24 JUL 2014
Over the past few years we have had the privilege of collaborating with Youth Farm to support their mission of Farming to Grow.
As many of you know, Youth Farm provides year-round programs for youth ages 9 to 24. They educate and train through gardens and greenhouses. Leadership is cultivated through planting, growing, preparing and selling the produce they harvest.
On Sunday, July 20th, Brasa gathered with many of our friends in the Twin Cities restaurant community at Youth Farm’s Hawthorne site. The afternoon began with tours of the Hawthorne Farm by Youth Farm’s student leaders and an open Community Marketplace featuring cooking demonstrations by Foxy Falafel, Be’Wiched Deli, The Land Stewardship Project, Restaurant Alma, and the Beez Kneez. Nice Ride Bikes provided bicycle helmets as gifts while they shared information about their statewide bike sharing system.
We are grateful to all who joined us at Youth Farm’s Community Marketplace & Dinner, and to you, whose ongoing support of our restaurants provides us the opportunity to promote and support the work of tomorrow’s leaders today.
